The EU energy strategy and national policies have changed the job market for designers and installers of renewable energy systems in buildings. Today, the industry needs professionals with both technical skills in smart buildings and renewable energy systems, as well as strong soft skills like communication and management. For Ukraine, the situation is even more challenging due to the impact of the war and global changes in the energy sector. Without qualified professionals, plans for Ukraine’s recovery and integration into the global energy community cannot succeed. Therefore, investing in specialized training is critical.
We organized the training ‘Train The Trainers’ in Kyiv as part of the project “VET Partnership for Green and Smart Energy in Buildings – VET4GSEB,” co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program.
Participants engaged with the training program both online and offline and were divided into three target groups. Each group received guidance from certified trainers—Olena Shelimanova and Svitlana Makarevych from the Institute of Energy, Automation, and Energy Saving, and Petro Zhovnych from Berezhany Agrotechnical College, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. This approach ensured personalized support, facilitating effective learning and the achievement of the program’s goals. The training aimed to equip participants with valuable competencies and skills for their professional growth and to support Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction efforts.
Certified trainers will provide personalized support to help participants gain the skills needed for the future labor market and contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction.
